Ms Patricia Chew qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales in 1992. She was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1995.
Patricia has practised both in Singapore and in UK, where she used to practise under Patricia Chew & Co for several years. In both jurisdictions, her areas of practice include drafting wills, partnership deeds, employment contracts, contentious and non-contentious probate, conveyancing, general litigation in High Court and County Court claims, shipping arbitration proceedings in U.K and proceedings in the Singapore High Court and State Courts, bankruptcy and insolvency matters and matrimonial work. She has acted for foreign governments in some of these matters.
Despite her busy schedule, Patricia found time to write three children’s books which are well-received by the public. Her first book was “Tony Tapir and Friends”. Its sequel, “ Tony Tapir and Friends in the Quest for the Great Pearl”, was launched in 2013 by the then Chief Minister of Penang, and now Finance Minister of Malaysia. This was followed by “Tony Tapir and Friends in the Mystery of the Missing Tapirs”, which was launched by an eminent Malaysian poet and father of legal aid in Malaysia during the Georgetown Festival of 2015. Due to her love for children, Patricia regularly gives talks in schools to encourage reading amongst the younger generation.
